The VCCS Alumni & Friends Association’s “Family Movie Night” Fundraiser is held in conjunction with a canned food drive. The canned food and non-perishable items are given to the VCC Missions Department of Charlotte, NC, which services hundreds of individuals and families in need throughout the community during the year. In addition to canned vegetables and canned meats, additional items that were specifically promoted and collected during the canned food drive were Rice, Salmon, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Spaghetti Sauce, Canned fruit, Tuna, Betty Crocker Dinners and Canned Soups. As an incentive to help market the canned food drive and promote more donations, guest to the “Family Movie Night” are able to receive a free bag of popcorn in exchange for every three items donated. The popcorn is also donated by the VCCSA&F. As a result of this community effort, over 730 canned food and non-perishable items were raised at the drive!

The revenue generated from Family Movie Night fundraisers (hosted by the VCCS Alumni & Friends Association at the Victory Christian Center School Elementary Campus (7224 Old Pineville Road) will help to provide the revenue to provide financial assistance to graduating senior students in need who have exhibited exemplary academic achievement and community service involvement.
